999 Cenotaph Day

This Friday 3rd December 2021 is 999 Cenotaph Day to fund the new 999 Cenotaph in Whitehall.

In celebration of all the emergency services

the children are welcome to attend school wearing anything red, green, blue or orange.

A £1 donation would be very welcome and all proceeds will go directly to build the UK's first 999 Cenotaph dedicated to everybody who has served in the NHS and emergency services.

Thank you in advance for your support of this cause.

Year 2 tribute to the England Football Team

Welcome to Oakwood Infant and Nursery School. We strive together to ensure that children are at the heart of our school, celebrating the fact that we aim to create a happy, purposeful and stimulating environment within which each individual will be able to achieve the highest possible standards of educational and personal development.

We not only aim to teach children to the highest educational standards but we teach them about life, friendships and how to treat others with respect. We encourage the children to carry themselves through life as kind and thoughtful people.

In school we use the language of ‘choice’ to encourage the children to make the right choices and we also encourage them to recognise how to try to put right any wrong choices made, through tolerance and forgiveness.

Our curriculum is broad, relevant, creative and progressive which engages children in an exciting and stimulating way. Staff work very hard to establish and maintain an effective partnership with parents throughout all year groups and classes. Our school is at the heart of our very

closed-knit community.

Thank you for taking the time to look at our website. As a school, we are pleased you are looking at or have chosen us to help and guide your child on their learning journey.

I hope this website will provide you with some of the information you will need, however please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.

I would be delighted to show you around our wonderful school and look forward to you becoming part of our happy, hardworking family.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs K. Maguire-Egan, Head Teacher

All the Year 1 and 2 children must be in their class by 8.35am when the classroom doors shut.

After this time they must go to the school office to be dropped off.

The Reception and Nursery pupils can then go to their classes from 8.35am-8.55am, and at 8.55am

all the gates are closed.

The gates in Windsor Avenue are open at 2.50pm. All gates are then closed at 3.10pm.

Please note: the school currently has a ONE WAY system in place. All parents/carers and pupils go through the

Windsor Avenue gate and walk round the school, and then can exit at the gate in the alleyway. We would like all

parents/carers to wear a mask while they are on the school site. Thank you.
